SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars introduced the latest iteration of its luxury sport utility vehicle, the Cullinan Series II, to the South Korean market on October 17.

The British automaker showcased two bespoke models of the Cullinan at a launch event held at a resort in Incheon. This marks a significant update to the original Cullinan, which debuted in 2018 as Rolls-Royce’s first foray into the SUV segment.

The Cullinan has been credited with broadening Rolls-Royce’s customer base, notably lowering the average age of its clientele from the 50s to the 40s. The Series II update reflects a shift towards a more urban-centric lifestyle and a younger demographic that prefers to take the wheel themselves.

Central to the Cullinan Series II’s design ethos is the concept of “verticality,” evoking the skylines of modern cities. This theme is evident in the iconic Pantheon grille, inspired by Roman temples, and the new L-shaped daytime running lights that connect to the top of the grille.

A notable addition is the illuminated Pantheon grille, a first for the Cullinan. In low-light conditions, it emits a subtle glow in concert with the daytime running lights, enhancing the vehicle’s presence.

The interior boasts a spacious feel, thanks to a continuous glass panel stretching between the A-pillars. Another interior highlight is the Illuminated Fascia on the passenger side, featuring the Cullinan wordmark intricately crafted with 7,000 laser-etched dots behind reinforced glass.

Upon entry, drivers are greeted by a sequential lighting effect that spans from the driver’s display to the central infotainment screen and the Illuminated Fascia.

The Cullinan Series II offers innovative seating options, including a Placed Perforation technique that creates patterns by puncturing small holes in the leather.

For environmentally conscious buyers, sections of the interior can be appointed with Duality Twill, an eco-friendly fabric made from bamboo fibers. This intricate process requires up to 2.2 million stitches and 18 kilometers of thread per vehicle.

Under the hood, the Cullinan Series II is powered by a 6.75-liter V12 engine with twin turbochargers, producing 571 PS and 850 Nm of torque. A high-performance Black Badge variant is also available, boasting 600 PS and 900 Nm of torque.

Deliveries of the Cullinan Series II are scheduled to begin this month.

Irene Nikkein, Rolls-Royce regional director for Asia Pacific, expressed confidence in the new model. “The Cullinan Series II remains true to the original’s core elements while evolving to meet changing luxury standards and customer usage patterns,” she said.

“From its refined exterior design to the meticulous craftsmanship of the interior and its versatile yet effortless driving experience, we are certain it will exceed our customers’ expectations.”
