SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics has developed a new 60-GHz Wi-Fi technology that’s five times faster than the current Wi-Fi services. The new technology could accelerate the speed up to 4.6 Gbps (gigabyte per second) as it makes use of the rarely used ultra-high frequency of 60 GHz.
This is more than five times faster than the currently available 802.11ac standard-based wireless LAN speed of up to 866 Mbps.
With the next-generation Wi-Fi technology, high-quality uncompressed video files can be exchanged between the smartphone and the TV in real time. Even between smartphones, a movie files with the size of 1 gigabyte can be sent within 3 seconds.
In addition, the new technology is less subject to radio frequency interference as it uses higher frequency bandwidth than the currently used band of 2.4-5.0 GHz. That means the actual speed can be almost close to the advertised speed.

What is the name of the new technology that uses higher frequency bandwidth?
You can just call as “The 60 GHz WiFi technology” or next-generation WiFi tech.
Thank you for the interest.
