SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung’s high-end robot cleaner has recorded fairly good sales, with more than 4,000-unit sales of its new robot vacuum cleaner “Powerbot” only in two months after launch, in offering untapped opportunities in the home electronics market to the tech giant which is reportedly suffering declining profit margins lately in its smartphone segment.
The highly-intelligent cleaner equipped with a 60-fold stronger digital inverter motor has a powerful absorption power. The high-tech device also has a function called “point cleaning” which means that a light from a remote control leads the gadget to specific dirty spots. Not only that, a wide and big brush of the cleaner sweeps corners, difficult space to get cleaned.
Even though it costs more than one million won, or about US$945 — on the expensive side compared with competing models in the segment, a good many consumers have bought it.
