Secondhand Car Dealership Apps Face Low Usage Ratings

SEOUL, Dec. 29 (Korea Bizwire)Users of secondhand car transaction apps are largely satisfied with the diversity of cars on sale but are less satisfied with the purchasing experience, a consumer rights agency said Wednesday.

The Korea Consumer Agency conducted a survey of 1,340 consumers who had bought used cars on five major online platforms, which showed that they were most satisfied with the quality of service (3.64 points), followed by service products (3.61 points) and service experience (3.19 points).

In terms of service quality, consumers were most satisfied with the efficient design and search functions (3.80 points), followed by efforts to listen to consumer feedback and offer recommendations (3.66 points) and efforts to filter fake or misleading ads (3.61 points).

In terms of service products, consumers were most satisfied with the diversity of vehicles on offer (3.81 points), followed by vehicle specifications (3.66 points) and vehicle pricing (3.59 points).

Consumers were least satisfied with user ratings (3.51 points) that involve dealer assessment and purchasing ratings.

At 17 percent (228 people), a not insignificant number of consumers said they had had a bad experience using a secondhand car transaction app.

These issues included situations in which automobiles were different from the performance assessments (43.9 percent) and ads with false information (36.4 percent).
