SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced plans to open a hydrogen energy trial zone for a limited period of time at the Hangang Park in the hopes of promoting the use of renewable energy.
“It is not only the very first hydrogen energy experience zone in South Korea, but also in the world. The intention is to promote hydrogen energy, a type of pollution-free environment-friendly energy, and raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection,” the Seoul government said on Thursday.
The hydrogen energy house comes with four different rooms, each dedicated to enlightening the public on issues such as energy generation, renewable energy and hydrogen-powered cars.
In the room representing hydrogen-powered cars, visitors can check out the inside of a vehicle, and a special class for children teaches them about how hydrogen energy is made.
The facility, which runs until November, is open from noon to 8 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday, and from noon to 9 p.m. from Friday through the weekend.
