SEOUL, Oct. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Telecom announced that it would launch an application to safeguard customers’ personal information on their smartphones, reflecting growing concerns about privacy and according measures the wireless industry rushes to adopt these days.
SKT’s “Security Box” is aimed at protecting confidential information against possible leaks as users increasingly tend to store their individual data on the phone. With the installation, sensitive information such as PIN numbers, confidential messages and private photos can be blocked against hacking attempts. “Security message,” which transmits important messages in an encrypted form, will shore up the security merit; In order to read the message, a recipient should decode it.
SK Telecom subscribers using Android OS 4.1 version or higher versions equipped with NFC USIM can download the app on Google Play.
