SUWON, Aug. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — The city of Suwon, 45 kilometers south of Seoul, will carry out the country’s first study to determine the effectiveness of plants in reducing fine dust.
Suwon’s city government set up a testbed for a fine dust reduction model in front of a local park last week.
The testbed will examine ivies, morning glories, and five other vines.
The testbed, set up next to a road in front of a local park, is 6 meters in length and 1.5 meters in height. There are two testbeds and two water tanks to grow seven kinds of vines.
The testbeds are equipped with fine dust filters and measurement devices that will automatically transfer data to researchers.
The water tanks will automatically supply water to the plants. Data transfers will be made by Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
