YEONGAM, May 28 (Korea Bizwire) — The 2020 ASA KIC-CUP Car Race opened at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province on Sunday.
Marking its sixth anniversary this year, the championship will be the first motorsports competition to be held in South Korea following the coronavirus outbreak.
The second round will be held on June 28. The competition will hold a total of six races and is scheduled to wrap up in November.
Jeonnam Development Corporation held the first round without any spectators in attendance, in accordance with government social distancing guidelines.
“We measured body temperatures of all participants and essential staff for the race and required everyone to wear protective masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” the organizer said.
