SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — Aircraft takeoffs and landings will be completely banned across South Korea from 1:05 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, when the 2020 College Scholastic Ability Test’s English listening test will be conducted.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it would ban takeoffs and landings at all airports in the country except for emergency aircraft during the English listening test period.
Aircraft in flight will be monitored by air traffic controllers and will have to remain at an altitude above 3000 meters.
The government’s decision to ban all takeoffs and landings will necessitate scheduling changes for 40 international flights and 118 domestic flights slated to either arrive or depart within the 1:05 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. window.
