SEOUL, March 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Thousands of taekwondo apprentices succeeded in a group demonstration in central Seoul, setting a new Guinness World Record.
Some 12,533 participants flocked to Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul on Saturday, wearing their taekwondo uniforms, to hold a group demonstration of the “Taeguk 1-jang” technique.

It replaces the previous record of 8,212 participants who held a similar group demonstration at the National Assembly plaza on April, 2018.
Participants came from a wide range of age groups from teens to those in their 80s. Some 300 foreigners also participated in the demonstration.
Some 10,000 Taekwondo institutes overseas that are members of the Kukkiwon Membership System also joined the Gwanghwamun demonstration in real time.
