SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – In an era where technological advancements are rapidly reshaping industries, companies are intensifying their efforts to secure top talent, particularly in artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge fields.

The recruitment of experienced professionals has become more dynamic, with firms expanding their hiring scope and, in some cases, forgoing traditional recruitment cycles to attract the best candidates.

Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience (DX) division recently announced its plans to fill around 90 positions in areas related to AI and automotive electronics, marking the first time the division has opened up nearly all its job categories for experienced hires simultaneously.

Similarly, the Device Solutions (DS) division, which oversees the semiconductor business, is looking to recruit experienced professionals for over 800 roles across its memory, system LSI, and foundry business units.

This move aligns with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s business philosophy that the future hinges on acquiring and nurturing technical talent to maintain a competitive edge.

In addition to domestic hiring, Samsung Electronics, along with its affiliates, are actively recruiting foreign professionals in research and development and technical fields. This marks the second instance of such a recruitment drive since last August.

The battery industry is also vying for experts in next-generation battery development. LG Energy Solution is seeking experienced individuals for roles in next-gen battery module and pack design.

Samsung SDI is on the lookout for professionals to work on solid-state and prismatic battery development, as well as lithium-ion battery materials, next-gen battery development, and recycling technologies.

SK On is broadening its recruitment to include experts across the entire battery manufacturing process, from cells and equipment to processes and components, emphasizing the need for diverse form factor expertise.

Kia is advancing its recruitment in IT development, management, and software architecture to align with Hyundai Motor Group’s vision of transforming all vehicles into software-defined vehicles (SDVs) by 2025.

KT has also launched a significant recruitment drive across its subsidiaries in IT, technology and business consulting, and digital media content, prioritizing candidates with at least three years of experience or those holding or pursuing a doctoral degree.

This strategic focus on recruiting experienced professionals indicates a broader industry trend where companies are not just looking for new talent but are eager to bring in experts who can immediately contribute to their innovative projects.

According to a survey by HR tech firm Incruit, a majority of Korean companies are opting for ongoing recruitment of experienced professionals, highlighting a shift in hiring practices to address the rapid changes in the technological landscape.
