SEOUL, Jun. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — Following the Korean government’s disclosure of a list of the hospitals affected by MERS, patient visits to these institutions have dropped drastically.
Samsung Seoul Hospital, where 17 cases of the MERS virus broke out, had 18 percent of its medical staff isolated, and saw its number of daily visitors from June 1 to 3 decrease 30 percent compared to other days.
As the workload decreased with the shrinking number of visitors, the hospital even gave some of its workers days off.
The hospital is currently screening all visitors with fevers at an isolated clinic set up outside the hospital building. All medical staff and employees are wearing masks.
