SEOUL, Jun. 12 (Korea Bizwire)The Seoul Metropolitan Government is trying to lower costs by digitalizing parking tickets.

According to an official announcement yesterday, the city will join hands with the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) to create a digital system that will make it possible to transmit parking tickets via a mobile messenger service.

Once the new system is implemented, it is expected to save 5.6 billion won in postal costs on an annual basis.

In addition, the system will ensure the swift delivery of parking tickets in comparison to the week-long process needed for postal delivery.

The city administration signed an MOU regarding this matter with KISA yesterday.

Seoul’s Vice Mayor Yoon Joon-byeong said state-of-the-art technology will be utilized in the public service sector to allow Seoul citizens to lead more comfortable and safer lives.
