SEOUL, Dec. 21 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced on December 20 that it will hold a comprehensive 2019 business briefing session for private blockchain businesses on December 26 in collaboration with other government institutions.
The main purpose of the briefing will be to go over the government’s investment in the industry. The government plans to double the number of public projects and private projects.
In order to do so, the MSIT is planning to expand the number of public projects it will support from six this year to 12 next year.
Based on creative ideas from the private sector, a new national project will be launched to support the development and early commercialization of blockchain services that can be used in real life.
The government is planning to provide funding of 4.8 billion won (US$4.27 million) to support three projects.
There is also other investment in the field of blockchain, including 12 projects to secure global competitiveness and help design of service models as well as support for PoC(Proof of Concept) and consulting for the supply and demand of blockchain services.
