SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Korea Bizwire) – KEB Hana Bank and Naver have teamed up to introduce a new AI-powered image search service with a financial twist.
The two signed a business agreement for an image search service based on Naver’s AI system that will give users information about foreign currencies photographed through a ‘smart lens’, such as exchange rates and the country.
The joint project from Hana Bank and Naver is expected to be unveiled sometime during the first quarter of next year.
Hana Bank plans to introduce other services offering counterfeit money information, coupons for better exchange rates, and a digital exchange service in the future.
“It’s the first time in South Korea that a financial service with an AI-based image search has been introduced. You can now get information about foreign currencies in real time,” Hana Bank said.
Naver has been increasing efforts to articulate its AI-based image search service in recent months, introducing ‘place recognition’ technology on its image search ‘smart lens’, which presents information about a business establishment present in a picture.
