Samsung Electronics Presents Extendable AI Innovation

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 (Korea Bizwire)Samsung Electronics Co. on Monday outlined its strategy to extend its “Home AI” innovation beyond smart homes to industries and society, vowing to become a leader in artificial intelligence for the next 100 years.

At a press conference on the eve of the official opening of this year’s annual CES in Las Vegas, the South Korean tech giant presented “Home AI,” a hyper-personalized solution combining cutting-edge AI and enhanced connectivity to transform daily life.

“I’m proud of how we have introduced new technologies and intelligence to the home, connected key devices and set the standard for the home of the future,” Samsung Electronics co-CEO and Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee said during the event.

“This year at CES, we are reinforcing our commitment to delivering personalized experiences through our widespread implementation of AI and we will continue this journey of AI leadership in the home and beyond, not just for the next decade, but for the next century.”

Han, who also leads the DX (Device eXperience) division, including TV and mobile businesses, at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the role of the company’s SmartThings platform, integrating AI technologies across Samsung devices.

This platform analyzes user habits and spatial environments to propose personalized solutions, creating a seamless ecosystem.

Samsung Electronics also revealed partnerships with Samsung Heavy Industries Co. and Hyundai Motor Group, illustrating how SmartThings connectivity can be extended to ships and vehicles.

SmartThings for Ships solutions help the crew manage operating systems, optimize energy efficiency and monitor abnormalities.

The SmartThings for Cars solution allows users to locate their vehicles, control conditions remotely, and even manage home appliances while driving.

To safeguard its “Home AI” ecosystem, Samsung Electronics incorporates its advanced Knox Matrix technology into all home appliances and mobile devices. Using blockchain technology, Knox Matrix protects user data and devices from potential cyber threats.

The company introduced new products embodying its “Home AI” vision at CES 2025, including the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 laptop and the Bespoke AI Hybrid refrigerator.

Samsung Electronics also highlighted accessibility innovations such as a “spoken subtitles” feature, which reads translated subtitles aloud, underscoring its commitment to using AI for societal betterment and future generations.
