SEOUL, Jan. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — The Community Chest of Korea (CCK) has announced that, as of January 14, 2025, it has collected ₩454.7 billion in donations nationwide, surpassing its target of ₩449.7 billion ahead of schedule.

This achievement is symbolized by the “Love Thermometer Tower,” which has reached 101.1 degrees; each 1-degree increase represents 1% of the fundraising goal, with 100 degrees indicating full attainment.

This year’s campaign has seen a notable rise in individual contributions and substantial donations from financial institutions. Notably, Yang Yong-man, CEO of Woori Farm, donated ₩1 billion, and Woori Financial Group increased its donation by ₩5 billion compared to the previous year.

CCK Chairman Kim Byong-joon expressed gratitude, stating, “Thanks to the warm hearts of our citizens, we have achieved 100 degrees on the sharing thermometer ahead of schedule this year.” He encouraged continued public interest and participation in the campaign, which runs until January 31.

The Community Chest of Korea, established in 1998, is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a culture of giving and supporting underprivileged communities across the nation.

Through its annual Hope Sharing Campaign, it mobilizes resources to address various social issues and provide assistance to those in need.

In addition to individual donors, several major corporations have made significant contributions to this year’s campaign. Hyundai Motor Group donated ₩35 billion, bringing its total contributions since 2003 to ₩429 billion.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. pledged ₩8.53 billion as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. Hana Financial Group contributed ₩15 billion, raising its total donations to the organization since 2003 to ₩113.5 billion.
