SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – The Tromm Washer, equipped with AI-supported voice recognition capabilities, will be released by the end of this year according to LG Electronics, making it the company’s second appliance to recognize spoken commands after the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner was introduced into the market in July.
Turning the machine on and off, selecting the type of wash, and starting a wash cycle can all be completed via vocal commands.
For example, when the machine is told “Begin Wash LG Tromm”, the machine will say “Beginning Standard Wash” and initiate the wash cycle.
The washing machine was previewed at an exhibit held in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. Afterwards, the displayed machines will be delivered to the 15 Korea Welfare Foundations for the Visually Impaired nationwide.
LG Electronics plans to use the feedback generated from use by the visually impaired for its official release of the product.
The South Korean electronics giant has labeled 2017 “The First Year of AI Electronics”.
