SEOUL, April 14 (Korea Bizwire) — A poster designed by a South Korean civil group with a message of encouragement to overcome the coronavirus is being met with positive responses from foreign netizens.
The Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK), which internationally promotes the country and its history online, distributed posters in seven languages on social media last week, sharing with the world the hopes of South Koreans to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.
The group took the term, COVID19, and turned it into an acrostic poem asking netizens to “have Courage and control fear”, “keep your hearts Open,” consoling them by saying “Victory will be ours, COVID-19 can’t beat us”, asking them to “identify the Information”, “always wear a mask and wash your hands for Defense”, and “Use 1 day to share love with 9 people.”
VANK reported that 9,375 foreigners around the world ‘liked’ the poster, and had shared it 998 times as of Monday.
