Seoul’s Dobong District Installs Feeding Zones for Stray Cats

SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Korea Bizwire)Seoul’s Dobong District announced Monday that it has set up five public feeding zones for stray cats in cooperation with the private sector.

The district joined hands with POSCO Engineering & Construction Co. and the Korean Animal Welfare Association for the project, designating so-called ‘cat moms’ to manage each feeding zone.

The feeding zones have been set up in priority areas where efficient monitoring of the overall project as well as surveillance over possible animal abuse can be ensured.

The district explained that the new feeding zones will prevent potential disputes between local residents over stray cats while ensuring that the cats are fed, thereby creating an environment of coexistence for both people and the animals.
